Evelyn Hubbell
Originally from Chicago, Evelyn was kindly invited to relocate to New York and teach at Studio Riverside. She is certified in Gyrotonic, Gyrokinesis, Gyrotoner, Jumping/Stretching Board, and the Leg Extension Unit. She has also participated in Rehabilitation worships for the pelvis and shoulder girdle designed by Paul Horvath as well as for breast cancer survivors. As a professional dancer, Evelyn has had the pleasure of performing with the Metropolitan Opera, The Lyric Opera of Chicago, Boston Ballet, and Milwaukee Ballet. Her sessions draw from this experience, emphasizing increased functionality of an individual moving through space with fluidity and ease.




Evelyn Hubbell
Emily Moore
Emily Moore graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in dance. Her knowledge of movement and the human body is vast and diverse. In addition to teaching and being a student of the Gyrotonic Method, Emily also teaches and participates in Thai Bodywork, Chi Nei Tsang Abdominal Chi Massage, MELT Method, Qigong and the Healing Tao, and Contact Dance Improvisation. Currently, she is a member of projectLIMB, a performing arts co-op intent on connecting communities with their bodies, landscape, resources, and each other. She also participates in Altaer Education, which is an initiative that offers wilderness retreats as a means to inspire individuals through yoga, dance, and meditation. Emily attributes her growth to her wonderful teachers: projectLIMB, Leda Franklin, Daria Fain, Irene Dowd, Mantak Chia, Deborah Hay, Sue Hitzmann, Juliu Horvath, Lower Left, Debra Rose, Kaline Alayna, Felicity Joy, Chantal Deeble, and Jennifer Daly!



Abbe Ouziel
Abbe is a graduate of the Ailey/Fordham BFA proram. While studying at the Alvin Ailey School, she became well versed in the modern techniques of Martha Graham and Lester Horton. To further her dance training, she went to Israel to train with famed choreographer Ohad Naharin’s Batsheva Dance Company. More recently, Abbe has been testing out her acting chops and completed a one year conservatory program through the Barrow Group. She’s been a student of the Gyrotonic Method for eight years and has been teaching it for the past three years. She continuously strives to gain more knowledge about anatomy and various movement techniques to incorporate into her teaching. When she’s not teaching, dancing, or acting, Abbe finds enjoyment from traveling, music, and meeting new people.



Kathy Cole Easton
Kathy moved to New York City in 1983. She’s been teaching the Gyrotonic Method since 2001, but originally got hooked when she took Gyrokinesis classes at Juliu’s studio on West 29th Sreet in 1990. She has an Associates Degree in Retail Management and Marketing from Paducah Community College and is certified in Fitness and Personal Training through Marymount Manhattan College. Her fitness, Pilates, Gyrotonic, and dance background prove that movement and well-being are a large part of Kathy’s life. When she not teaching or expanding her movement repertoire, Kathy enjoys going hiking in the Adirondacks or taking a mini vacation at Schroon Lake with her husband. She is as equally devoted to their Schnauzer mix pooch, “the best person on 4 legs!”


Allison Jay Baber
Allison incorporates her vast professional dance experience into her Pilates and Gyrotonic teaching methods. She’s danced professionally with the Hartford Ballet, BalletMet, Smuin Ballet, and was in the 1st National Tour of Twyla Tharp’s Broadway smash Movin’ Out. Allison continues to dance in NYC, performing often with Brooklyn’s Covenant Ballet Theater. She’s passionate about teaching dance and movement to all levels and ages; dividing her time between teaching budding ballerinas and those who are seeking a healthy lifestyle through the Gyrotonic and Pilates Method.



Celia DeVoe
Celia graduated earning her B.A. in Dance with an Education Concentration from Marymount Manhattan College. She is a freelance modern dancer, constantly performing in venues throughout the NYC area. In addition to teaching Gyrokinesis, Celia also teaches dance and creative movement to students of all agea. She enjoys crossword puzzles, math games, trapeze, yoga, cycling, hiking, studying anatomy, traveling, laughing, loving, and strives to constantly grow as a student and teacher.



Serena Edwards
Serena received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance while in the San Francisco/Bay Area. Originally, she began to experiment with the Gryotonic Method to improve her dancing. It wasn’t long before she realized how wonderful Gyrotonic made her body feel and how it gave her freedom in her movement. She was hooked! She thinks the human body is magical and fascinating - an interest, which fuels her passion to help others find more freedom and pleasure in their own movement. In addition to teaching and studying Gyrotonic, Serena is a professional modern dancer and in the process of getting certified in the Klein Technique. When she’s not teaching or moving, Serena enjoys painting and learning French . . . slowly, but surely.



Lindsey Richter
Lindsey relocated recently to NYC to pursue her passion for dance and pilates. Her dance experience in ballet, modern, jazz, and tap spans over 20 years. She graduated from California’s Chapman University with a Bachelor of Arts in dance. While still in California, she performed with Alive Dance Company and several Orange County choreographers. She is certified in Pilates mat, apparatus, and specialized equipment through Body Arts and Science International and the Pilates Method Alliance - and is experienced in creating programs specific for dancers and athletes. Additionally, Lindsey has worked closely with physical therapists to design tailored fitness programs for clients with injuries. She dances currently with New York City choreographer Korhan Basaran. Through all of these experiences, Lindsey has felt the incredible benefits of Pilates, helping her discover valuable strength that she hopes to share that with her clients.



Frances Baca (Stohlman)
Frances received her B.F.A. in Modern Dance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Shortly after graduating, she worked as a ballet and modern dance peer tutor at the university. Her movement background is diverse; ranging from certifications in Pilates, Gyrotonic, ActivCore, and Cardiolates to dance, martial arts, and swimming. Some of her current clients are members of the Rockettes, Paul Taylor Dance Company, and the Martha Graham Dance Company. Recently, she has taken up running and is using her new-found hobby to help raise money for the Wildlife Conservation Society. When she’s not teaching, dancing, or saving the planet, she loves to eat healthy food, junk food, and bake!



Elisabeth Demmer
A native of Santa Fe, NM Elizabeth has been dancing most of her life. Studying many different dance forms including Ballet, Modern, Jazz, and Ballroom dance Elizabeth quickly found her passion in movement and dance. Elizabeth studied with companies such as Alonzo Kings Lines Ballet, The Oregon Ballet Theater, American Conservatory Theater, and Aspen Santa Fe Ballet. She went on to perform at various places in the US and Argentina. Elizabeth was introduced to Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis through her dance career and is now a certified Gyrotonic instructor and currently in the process of getting her Gyrokinesis certification. Elizabeth loves sharing her joy of movement and dance with others.



Sera-Kim Huenergard
Sera received her Bachelor of Arts in dance and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture from the University of Washington. She then went on to graduate from the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences with an AOS Massage Therapy. A ‘Jane of all trades,’ Sera continues to dance in NYC with ZviDance, as well as explore her interests in costume design - a self-taught craft, but her collaborative work has already been reviewed by New York Times and NY Arts Magazine. Sera has also trained in Pilates Mat work with the Kane School of Core Integration. Currently, she is engaged in postbacculaureate studies at City College, with the intentions to apply to medical school or an advanced healthcare program.



Michelle Weber
Michelle Weber began her dance training at a young age, while growing up in Western Massachusetts. She is a technically trained dancer in ballet and jazz. She loves partnering, tumbling, ballroom, and theater. Michelle has danced and choreographed professionally in New York and LA across the mediums of film, television, and live theater, working with artists such as Michael Jackson, Brian Setzer, Brian McKnight, Ray Romano, Mike Myers, and Spike Jonze. She has also had the honor of working on the choreography for the film A Christmas Carol with Jim Carey, and performed with the first national tour of the Broadway show CONTACT. Michelle has an extensive background in both Gyrotonic and Pilates and enjoys not only teaching, but learning from her students.



Anne Vick
Originally from Denver, Colorado, Anne came to New York to study dance/theatre at New York University where she earned a BFA in Performance and a BA in English. Her love for Pilates began as a girl when she was introduced to it as part ofher training at Colorado Ballet. After a car accident, Pilates helped nurse her body back to health. This inspired her to become a teacher and share the benefits and power of Pilates with others! She is fully certified through Balanced Body Pilates and incorporates her love of movement with breath and intention into her classes. Anne still performs regionally and in New York City.
