Gyrotonic® Applications for Tennis Workshop
Learn about Tennis and Gyrotonic in the home city of the US Open!
Kinespirit is proud host Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis Master Trainer Anjali Austin, Sandi Ecclestone and their unique and effective GYROTONIC® Applications for tennis Players course. All Certified Level 1 Gyrotonic trainers are invited to register.
If you loved the Gyrotonic Applications for Golf, you will find this course just as beneficial and inspiring! Come to this course to expand your horizons as a teacher and to open your eyes to another approach for athletes and clients. Spots will fill quickly, this is the first time this course has ever been offered in New York City.

May 19-21, 2011 (thurs-sat) @ 11-5pm (1 hour break)
Fees: $500 total ($350 course fee and $150 studio fee) includes $300 deposit.

Prereq: Students must be certified Gyrotonic teachers
The benefits of Gyrotonic training for Tennis players include:
- Better body alignment, form, & integration

In the Tennis Applications workshop you will:
- Learn how the Gyrotonic principles can be applied to the tennis player's game: serve, volley, and return.
- Learn the key movements of the tennis swing and tennis terminology.
- Learn how to address the imbalances of the tennis player's body, and apply that knowledge to a wide variety of clientele
- Learn specialized exercises to focus on the tennis player's typical body restrictions - tight lower back, hip flexors, and upper/lower body connection - and apply those exercises to all clients with similar challenges.
- Learn how to market your new skills to tennis players that are new to Gyrotonic training.
More About Anjali Austin
Anjali is a Gyrotonic, Gyrokinesis and Specialized Equipment Master Trainer who has been experiencing and practicing Gyrotonic exercise since 1985. Ms Austin has trained extensively in the Pilates method as well.
A former thirteen year member of Dance Theatre of Harlem, Ms. Austin joined the ballet faculty in the Department of Dance at Florida State University in 1995. As a member of the dance faculty she introduced Gyrotonic exercise to students and faculty and received administrative support for the purchase of two Pulley Tower machines. Currently students now have the opportunity to train on the equipment as a course of study and receive academic credit for their work.
More About Sandi Ecclestone
Sandi has practiced Gyrotonic exercise for over eight years and brought Gyrotonic exercise to Atlanta. Sandi is a certified instructor and Pre-Trainer for Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis Instructor and is also certified on all of the specialized equipment. In addition, Sandi developed and instructs the Gyrotonic applications for Tennis workshop. Sandi has taken continuing education courses on Gyrotonic For Golf and Gyrotonic for Pre/Post Natal Clients. Sandi continues her Gyrotonic studies and is currently working towards becoming a Master Trainer.
