About Alexandra Ballard

Alexandra has been practicing the Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis Methods since 2011, and has been taught and trained from the beginning under the guidance of Master Trainer Chantal Deeble. Alexandra has been a student of movement her whole life. Beginning with ballet as a young child, then discovering the world of modern dance at Sarah Lawrence College, where she majored in dance studies. She continued her explorations of dance in many forms, and added first yoga and then Pilates to the mix, as she was raising her two children.

It is a continuous daily revelation to see how the practice of Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis can transform a person’s body and mind in subtle and not-so-subtle ways. Alexandra is convinced that they are keys to youthful vitality throughout our lives. By working to reverse the aging process in the body through decompressing the joints, connecting the fifth line of energy in multiple directions, and creating new pathways in the brain, we can all experience strength, fluidity and joy in our bodies.
