Steps to become a GYROTONIC® or GYROKINESIS® instructor

  1. Take classes for yourself!

  2. Pretraining: more in-depth self-practice, 6-Day Course

  3. Foundation Teacher Training: 12-Day Course

  4. Apprenticeship: Practice teaching and Apprentice Review Course. Timeframe: 6 months to a year. 

  5. Final Certification 3-Day Course. 

Master Trainer Chantal Deeble

Chantal is a GYROTONIC®, GYROKINESIS® and Pilates Master Trainer with over 30 years experience in movement education. Having trained directly with Juliu Horvath for over 25 years, Chantal is a 1st Generation Specialized Master Trainer qualified to offer all aspects of GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Education: GYROTONIC® Level 1 and Level 2, GYROKINESIS® Level 1 and Level 2, all Specialized Equipment, Musical Courses and Cardiovascular Programs 1 & 2. Chantal co-authored the specialized course GYROTONIC® Applications for Runners, and is one of only a few Master Trainers worldwide authorized to conduct the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Final Certification Courses.

Chantal is also a 3rd Generation Classical & Contemporary Pilates Instructor Trainer - fully and comprehensively certified on all Pilates Apparatus and Mat since 2001. Originally Stott certified, then bridged with Power Pilates and worked extensively with Bob Liekens, has been an instructor trainer on faculty with Pilates Academy International, Kane School of Core Integration at Kinected, and is honored to be affiliated with The Movement Study.

Authorized GYROTONIC® Pre-Trainer Christa Thiesing

Christa is a fully certified Level 1 and 2 Gyrotonic trainer who teaches on all specialized equipment, including JSB, Archway, LEU, and Gyrotoner. She is also certified in Gyrokinesis, and has completed continuing education courses in Pre/Postnatal, Dancer’s Applications, Osteoporosis, Psoas Principles, Pathways of Shoulders/Hips/Spine, Juliu’s Wrapping, The Fascial Body, Gyrokinesis Essentials, and Breathing Intensive. Additionally, she has completed Alicia Head’s ballet-focused workshops in Turnout and Arabesque.

As an Authorized Gyrotonic Pretrainer, Christa conducts the first course in the teacher training program leading to certification as a certified instructor.

Christa is comprehensively certified in Pilates through the Kane School of Core Integration.

A classically trained ballet dancer, Christa studied and performed at Princeton Ballet School, Chicago City Ballet School, Ohio Ballet, the National Academy for the Arts, and Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. She has taught ballet at Broadway Dance Center and the Joffrey Ballet School.

Believing strongly in the Gyrotonic Method and Pilates as cross-training for dancers, Christa runs the Kinespirit Gyrotonic Scholarship program for Juilliard Dance and is on faculty at Steps on Broadway and the Paul Taylor Dance Center, where she teaches Gyrokinesis classes.

In addition to working with professional and pre-professional dancers, Christa collaborates with a diverse clientele, encompassing musicians, singers, individuals undergoing pre- and postnatal care, seniors, and those diagnosed with osteoporosis, scoliosis, Parkinson’s disease, and other conditions.

Christa possesses degrees in Costume Construction (AAS) and Fashion Design (BA, AS) from both Indiana University and the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). Her professional experience includes designing for renowned brands such as Ralph Lauren and Banana Republic, and she served as the Fashion Director at The Limited. Currently, she operates as a freelance still-life stylist for prestigious brands, including Carolina Herrera.
